After five weeks away from civilization and society, Coyhaique remains virtually unchanged. It's still a small, beautiful, laid-back town in the middle of one of the most beautiful parts of the world. It's a comfortable town, true, but it's also time for me to get moving.
The NOLS experience was just great. It's hard to capture what it was like, and I'mn still not ready to write about most aspects of the trip, so y'all will have to ask me for stories or just hang on a bit. I got some nice photos, but finding a way to get them online remains a problem down here.
This internet cafe is supposed to close 1 minute ago, so I{m going to have to wrap this up before it really got started. The bullet points are:
* I'm back.
* I'm happy.
* I'm heading back out on the road again tomorrow morning.
My plans are to travel south on the careterra austral, to villa o'higgins, and cross the border into argentina from there. The border crossing promises to be somewhat interesting, and is described well here. The adventure begins tomorrow morning when I board a bus for Cochrane.
I'll try to find time for a more detailed entry soon!
welcome back :)

Viv and I have been arguing over how many day's she was supposed to wait before she called your mom.
Posted by: Hoss Man at February 21, 2004 01:44 PMThe only problem I see with the last comment was that my plan was to call Viv . . . On the other hand, after looking at the pictures and reading more about each area, the idea of a trip to Chile is more and more appealing although preferably as travel for fun only.
