I'm almost certain I've said this before, but once again:

Every time I read the news, I'm convinced more and more of the imminent downfall of

anything worthwhile and good in the American culture. The idiot corporate mentality

seems to be constantly taking over, quickly commercializing anything that starts gaining

any popularity. Maybe I'm paranoid, or maybe things would seem . . . more normal, anyhow

(not that that's terribly comforting) if I had more historical perspective on the whole thing.

I doubt it, though. It really seems to me that overcommercialization and selling out is

the name of the game in the 90's. Disneyland certainly has changed for the worse. What's the

story with that, anyhow? Does Disney not have enough money to build new rides by itself?

I doubt it. So why do they have to soil their once-magnificent park with "brought to you by"

signs and adverts? (Gotta kick into mah UK groove deal)

a savage journey to the heart of the american dream

Maybe things are always taking a turn for the worse, then, just in different ways as times change.

Yet another comforting thought.
